Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) and nTMS

Cannabis use disorder (CUD) is a common condition with few treatments. Several studies in other substance use disorders have found that applying repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) decreases cue-elicited craving and possibly decreases use.

“Our findings taken in composite suggest that DLPFC rTMS can be feasibly delivered to CUD participants. Additionally we found that the anti-craving effects found in other substance use disorders may be replicated in CUD”
